Daniel Ord

Head Coach and Program Director
Dan grew up on the east coast skiing at Blue Mnt. Ski Area in Palmerton, Pa.  Dan started Ski racing in 1989 and continued a Junior racing career under P.A.R.A. with U.S.S.A. until 2001.  Dan attended Colby-Sawyer College were he continued his skiing and racing career.  Dan started coaching in 2009 with the Juneau Ski Club and is currently a certified Level 100 USSA Coach and Level 1 PSIA Instructor.

Patrick Shanley

Asst. Coach - Course Foreman
Pat was born and raised in Juneau, AK skiing since age two and participated with the Juneau Ski Club as an athlete all the way through high school. Pat attended Western Oregon University where he received a Bachelor's of Science in Business. Pat started coaching in 2011 after returning to Juneau to start a family.

Randy Bates
Head DEVO Coach
Randy moved to Juneau in the early 1970's when Egan Drive wasn't even in existence and commercial fishing didn't require permits.  He started his skiing career late - he saw the move "Hot Dog," joined the ranks of skiing enthusiasts, and began instructing at Eaglecrest in 1994.  He shares a passion for teaching, coaching, and mentoring the athletes and making a difference in their lives.  Each year, he renews his goal to catch a king salmon the same day he makes some turns.

Brock TaborDEVO
Coach

Brock (Rush Chairman) has been involved with Eaglecrest since 1997 and with the JSC DEVO program for the past two years.  He started skiing a bit later in life (age 12) but has managed to make the most of his time since then.  This includes ski racing through his high school club and teach at Stratton, Breckenridge, and Mt. Bachelor.  Brock is a PSIA Level 3 Instructor, and USSA Level 1 Coach, and has a passion for telemark skiing by moonlight and waterskiing in the channel.

Lucy Squibb
DEVO Coach

Lucy was born and raised in Juneau.  She grew up with Eaglecrest as her home mountain and raced race rats through Juniors.  Last year after two years attending the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and skiing at Whistler, she moved back home and began coaching the JSC DEVOs.  Lucy recently got certified as a USSA Level 1 Coach and is trained in CPR and First Aid.  When she isn't ripping it up in the moutains, Lucy studies Geography at the University of Alaska Southeast.  Off-season she enjoys spending time outdoors kayaking, camping, and fishing.

Robert Martin
Mitey Mite Coach - Snow Sports Instructor
Though born and raised in Oregon,
Coach Robert didn't ski until his mid-teens at Mt. Hood . He then became a ski patrolman, a ski instructor, and finally a ski school director. His racing included ski school events and a few early NASTAR races, but was cut short by his dislike of bamboo (ouch!) gates. He moved to Alaska in 1983 to avoid skiing in the rain - not with complete success. Robert began coaching Mitey Mites a couple years later at Eaglecrest and loved it! He is now a PSIA Level 3 Alpine Instructor, Level 2 Adaptive Instructor, and Alpine Examiner. Robert is also a USSA Level 100 Coach.
